Take me to the disco!

Kodak disc camera
Disc cameras were introduced by Eastman Kodak in the early 80s. They came with a built-in flash and were powered by a 9-volt battery. Instead of a roll, the film came in the form of a disc, with everything contained inside a plastic cartridge. There were 15 exposures to each entirely contained disc, and the discs were extremely easy to load and unload aside from the fact that they were rather small. Kodak officially discontinued disc film in 1999, even though everybody had stopped using it long before. Disc film is no longer manufactured because the design is so complicated. I imagine there must be some disc film enthusiasts out there, but I am not personally acquainted with any. The photographs produced by disc cameras weren’t anything to write home about, but I could be wrong about the quality (email me if you’re a disc camera user! Manuelshutterbug@yahoo.com). That said, I think the cameras are pretty neat-looking. Check out this gallery of disc cameras
